In the case of computers, you don't have to worry about data security, either. All rented computer equipment will have its hard disk erased immediately upon return using a minimum 35-pass overwriting technique, or you may provide your own hard disk for installation and use once the computer is delivered on-site. Go Back> *Please note: Personal computers that we rent are supplied with no operating system software or applications preinstalled. This is due to the provisions in most software user license agreements that specifically disallow software installation on computers that will be leased, rented or loaned out. You must provide or purchase software and licenses for use with any computer you rent from us. You must also remove--or arrange to have removed--the software and operating system you install on a rented computer before it is returned to us. We will be happy to do this at no additional charge to you when the computer is returned. Secure erasure of the contents of a hard disk or other storage medium may not be completely possible. We are happy to offer on or off site data destruction services by way of disk/media erasure software. (We do not offer physical drive destruction services and will NOT allow a disk we supplied to you in a rented computer or otherwise to by physically destroyed unless you purchase it outright.) For rented out printing, imaging and fax equipment, ink, toner and other printing consumables are your responsibility. We will provide a usable ink or toner cartridge with the rental unit. Subsequent refills or replacements are your responsibility unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Damage to equipment caused by misuse or accident is your responsibility and you will be charged the fair market value replacement cost of a piece of equipment if we reasonably feel that it was damaged by misuse, accident or act of God. Some rented equipment is previously used. We do our best to make sure equipment is perfect operating condition by performing regular rigorous testing between rentals. However, we cannot make any warranty on data storage devices such as hard disks. We are not responsible or accountable if a data storage device (such as a hard disk, media or similar equipment) fails while being used, even if it causes data loss or corruption.
