ABSTRACT: Can PSF/AIX use the -a ps flag on the pcl2afp transform
to create PostScript output from PCL input ?

Customer wants to send PCL data to some PostScript only printers.
The pcl2afp transform in PSF/AIX has a " -a ps " flag which creates
a bitmap wrapped in PostScript. Will the PostScript created this way
print to a PS printer? In the PSF/AIX printer definition in AIX, are
there any unique flags which need to be added to the backend to
facilitate transparency ? (like the -dp -Zą used to move
PCL to the actual PCL print queue.)

Thank you.
A:
This will work. I used the pcl2afp command to create a PostScript file
(pcl2afp -aps -otest.ps test.pcl). I then printed the test.ps file to
a 4029 PostScript queue (enq -Pps test.ps) and it printed -- not very
fast (since it's a bitmap image), but it printed. Hope that helps.
