Customer wants to send spool data from the UNIX machine to the
AS/400 and provide a automatic translation from ASCII to EBCDIC.
He was able to define the remote output queue but the data
arrive in ASCII. Do we have any parameter to set to provide
a conversion to EBCDIC.
A:
In the following answer, I'm assuming that the UNIX system is AIX. If
the UNIX system is not AIX, then you may need to contact the vendor of
that UNIX operating system to see if some similar procedure can be
activated.
There is an internally accessible web site with a web page that should
assist you with printing from AIX to an AS/400. If you're unable to
access the following URL, please reopen this item so we can imbed the
information here.
http://tesch.aix.dfw.ibm.com/printips/as400.html
This is an IBM internal site only; customers will not be able to access
this URL. If you find that the information in the URL does not work,
please reopen the item and we'll do our best to assist further.
Thanks for using Techline.
