Abstract: lprafp runs on only downlevel HP unix systems
On a new PSF for AIX install my customer informs me that the level of
HP unix quoted as capable of running the LPRAFP is no longer supported
by HP. His question was does it run on the currently supported HP unix
version. Version 10 and 11 are current according to him. He tried to
compile on version 10 and failed. Do we have a updated version of
LPRAFP that works in the current HP environments?
A:
The developers in Boulder were able to compile lprafp on an HP-UX
10.01 system successfully. Please ensure that the customer is running
as root and that they remove the comment marker (#) from all lines in
the HP-UX section of the /usr/lpp/psf/utils/lpr/Makefile (lines 31-36
in my copy) before attempting to compile. That should work.
Boulder does not yet have access to an HP-UX 11 system, so they are
unable to test at that level at this time.
