AIX customer is using a product called EASY SPOOLER to control the
printing from applications on rs/6000 they would like to move from
using preprinted forms to electronic forms and want to know how they
could add PAGEDEF and FORMDEF via EASY SPOOLER. I have explained how
PAGEDEF and FORMDEFs work but do not know how the are called in the
AIX environment. MVS,VSE and VM can use JCL and I can explain how
AS/400 works. I know they can use -o option in AIX but I do not
know how this interfaces with EASY SPOOLER. Customer said if they
do not use a product like EASY SPOOLER could they use another AIX
product to control the AIX spools (they do not use SMIT)?

You should be able to use your normal PSF/AIX print flags to print
to EasySpooler printers once EasySpooler has been properly configured.
There are also ways to set up default parameters like pagedef and
formdef for EasySpooler queues, but you will need to contact them for
specifics.
EasySpooler has customized their product to work with PSF/AIX, and
they are the right people to answer the customer's questions on how
it does so. They can be reached at 214-522-2324. EasySpooler is
the only spool replacement product for AIX that I know of who has
customized their product to work with PSF/AIX, and they are also
authorized remarketers.
