HOW DO I START AIXWINDOWS CUSTOMIZING TOOL?

ITEM: RTA000029378

QUESTION:
I have applied PTF's U406705 and U410987 to add the AIXWindows
Customizing tool. I cannot find any mention of how to start the tool
or what the binaries are called. Can you tell me how to start the
tool? I use info from a CDROM, and I do not have a new CDROM to go
with my new 3.2.3Extended code so I can't look it up in info.

---------- ---------- ---------- --------- ---------- ----------
A: After installing the customizing tool you should be able to
find the executable with: "whence custom".
"whence custom" should return the answer /usr/bin/X11/custom
This is a link to the actual executable in
    /usr/lpp/X11/custom/bin/custom.

When I installed X11 R5 on my system, the system default
mwmrc installed came with a root mouse menu entry to bring up
the customization tool, but I don't know if this is a part of
    the PTF's you installed.
You may add it to your mouse menu selections by adding the
    following line to your $HOME/.mwmrc:

        "Customize" f.exec "/usr/bin/X11/custom"

The documentation can be found in InfoExplorer using the
compound search words: "customizing" and "tool"

The "custom" command does not come up in the "List of Commands"
in InfoExplorer. I have reported this as a problem and
PMR 8X797 has been opened to correct this.

The tool is easy to use without documentation.
There are three known problems to avoid:
    1. On the panel marked "Size and Location":
Do not use the field "window location forexperts".
        Minor but unpredictable problems occur.
Use the "simple window location" entry instead.
    2. On the panel marked "Save AS ..."
The toggle button "Merge with the Server" will be on
        as the default.
It must actually be pressed to become activated.
    3. The $HOME/.Xdefaults file must already exist.

---------- ---------- ---------- --------- ---------- ----------
