EXPLANATIONS ON SMIT VALUES FOR MOUNTED FILES SYSTEM
ITEM: RTA000027312
Will you please give me some explanations on the attribute values
within the MOUNTED FILES SYSTEM (NFS), for buffer size for READ,
buffer size forWRITE, and the MINIMUM & MAXIMUM times which appear
at the bottom of this smit screen, or at least give me a place that
I can reference the information?

A: The attributes listed in that SMIT screen are the same as in the "Make
an Mounted File System" screen. These are documented in InfoExplorer
article "mknfsmnt."
The read and write buffer sizes refer to the amount of data that is
sent across the network in each NFS packet. The "cached attributes"
refer to how long (min or max) the local attributes will be held
before synchronizing with the server.
The read and write buffer sizes default to 4096 bytes. There is no
default value for attribute caching; the attributes are usually
propagated instantly.
