CAN THE 7009-C10 BE REMOTELY POWERED ON AND OFF?

QUESTION:                                                                       
Does the 7009-C10 support remote power off and on capabilities?  Looking        
at some models of RS/6000 (like the 580 and 930) I see that capability          
exists via a special cable.  If not, in answer to an RFP, is there              
another option for the user to remotely power off and on the system?

A:    The front switch on a 7009-C10 is the only method of system power         
   control. In other words, there is no standard or non-standard                
   (meaning currently available by special request) way of remotely             
   powering on/off the 7009-C10 system.                                         
                                                                                
   However, one suggestion would be to submit an RPQ (Request for Price         
   Quotation) or REQUEST to Development.  This would allow Development         
   a chance to comment feasibility of the future support of this                
   product.
