SCSI-2 DISKS
ITEM: RTA000041042
QUESTION:
URGENT: The customer is looking at a model 590 with six internal
SCSI-2 disks. Two of the disks will be 1.0GB (Stnd Feature), and
Four of the disks will be 2.0GB Disks. The customer wants the six
disks spread across two SCSI-2 internal controllers. I have ordered
F2831 (additional SCSI-2 Internal I/O Ctrl), and the box comes
standard with F9219 (Stnd int SCSI-2 I/O Ctrl). How will Austin Mfg
spread the two internal SCSI-2 disks across the six disks ?

QUESTION:
I must know how the SCSI adapters are connected to the internal disk
drive. I have talked with my CE, and he has stated it is a billable
activity to spread the SCSI-2 adapters across multiple disks at the
customer site. Also, there is the issue of wether the internal
cabling is available to do this.
The Internal SCSI-2 cable has 6 drops. This means that any disk
could be cabled to either Adapter. It is recommended to attach both
half high disk in the same bay to the same adapter.
The Standard Internal SCSI-2 Controller in Micro Channel position
8 would be connected to the Disk(s) in bay E. The second Internal
SCSI-2 Controller (FC2831) in Micro Channel position 7 would be
connected to the Disk(s) in bays F and G.
