OS/2 2.0 RUNNING UNDER PCSIM.
ITEM: RTA000026120
QUESTION:
Am trying to install OS/2 2.0 under the pc simulator (PCSIM). OS/2
will not boot from diskette in the PCSIM window. My understanding
from others is that it "should." How can I get this to work?
---------- ---------- ---------- --------- ---------- ----------
A: OS/2 2.0 requires a 386SX or higher CPU. The current version
of PCSIM only simulates a 80286 CPU. The boot diskettes for OS/2
2.0 check for the CPU type before installing. This is why trying
to boot OS/2 2.0 in a PCSIM window will not work.

QUESTION:
Does this mean that I can expect 1.3 to load?
---------- ---------- ---------- --------- ---------- ----------
A: PCSIM only supports DOS 3.3, 4.0, and 4.1. PCSIM is a
286 with 640K base RAM and support for LIM 4.0. None of the
OS/2 Version/Release Levels will work with PCSIM.
