HOW CAN I TURN ON DETAILED CRON LOGGING?
ITEM: RTA000028871
Under AIX 3.2 (RS6000), I only get one line of info (cron started)
in my cron log when cron is started. Under AIX (PS/2), and SCO, I
have DETAILED logging (a line when each job is started, etc). I've
been unable to find how to turn this feature on for the RS6000.

A: More detailed logging of 'cron' executions can be accessed through the
RISC System's Auditing Subsystem. Once properly configured, the
following two audit events are generated:
cron_start - Lists the name of each job, whether the job was
initiated by an at or cron command, and the time the job
started.
cron_finish - Lists the user's name, process ID of the job, and
the time the processing was completed.
Details on configuring the Audit Subsystem can be found by reading the
"How to Set Up an Auditing System" in InfoExplorer. This information
itself can be found in the InfoExplorer article for 'cron'.
