OBTAINING IP ADDRESS OR HOST NAME OF USERS
ITEM: RTA000027278
QUESTION:
How can I get the IP address or host name of a user who telnet to
my system. The "who am i" command apparently reads the utmp file and
reports the host name but that information is truncated.

A: There is command that can be used to gather the information
you are requesting:
netstat -an grep ESTABLISH
This will give you the IP addresses of the hosts that are either
telneted or rlogined in to your system. You can use the same command
without the "n" option, and it will display the hostname, but it can
truncated here as well.
