RISCSYSTEM 220:HOW TO ATTACH 3510 AND OTHER
ITEM: RTA000029629
QUESTION:
On the 7011-22x (mod 220) and 7008-m20, we're now offered a
SCSI Single-Ended Controller Cable (f.c. 2834) for attaching the 3510,
as well as the familiar Integrated SCSI Controller Cable (f.c. 2833).
From reading the announcement letter and the product description, I
understand that I can attach the 3510-0V0 with 2834, and everything
else with 2833. What happens after that?
Can I attach, say, a 7207 tape drive or a 7210 CD-ROM behind the 3510
using the standard SCSI Device-to-Device cable (f.c. 3130)?
What if I want to attach a 3510 to a 220 which already has a tape
drive attached via the 2833 cable?

A: yes, you would be able to daisy-chain an external tape or CD-ROM to
the back of the 3510 with a SCSI Device-to-device Cable (#3130)
since they are all 50-pin connectors.
You should also be able to daisy-chain a 3510 to the back of another
external device with the same cable since the 3510 also only requires
the 50-pin attachment.
