SMIT MENU FILES
ITEM: RTA000037846
I am developing an application under SMIT. I copied over the sm_*
files from /etc/objrepos to get started. I have now whittled the
basic files, sm_menu_opt, sm_name_hdr, sm_cmd_hdr, and sm_cmd_opt
down to where they only contain the objects for my application. In
an attempt to save some more space, can I reduce or eliminate the
s,_*.vc files? What are they used for, please?

A: The .vc files are the files used to hold the vchar (variable-
sized character strings) for the odm. Removing these files is the
equivalent of removing the odm object class. The .vc files should
NEVER be deleted by the user to save space.
