they are statically bound. However, there may be some system
dependent problems that cause some applications to not be fully
compatible. The AIX Version 4.1 Porting Guide available on

application binary compatibility. It does not directly discuss
Fortran but it may offer you some assistance. And, as always,
dynamically bound applications will not be supported at all.
