**URGENT **>>> DB2/6000 NETLS PROBLEMS ON A DSLO RISC SY STEM/6000
ITEM: RTA000051790
QUESTION:
My customer has purchased DB2/6000 V1 1-2 user licenses for two
RISC S/6000 590's. One license is a Basic One-Time-Charge and the
other is a Distributed License (DSLO). DB2/6000 installs and works
fine on the BOTC system. However the customer uses the same media
to install the product on the DSLO system and receives the following
error from NetLS:
SQL 8000N: DB2/6000 server license was not found
How can the customer get around this problem? They are properly
licensed for this product.

A: DB2/6000 requires a valid licensing entry in a nodelock file
in /usr/lib/netls/conf/nodelock. You run the
/usr/lib/netls/bin/ls_targetid command to get the unique
identifier for your cpu chip. Then contact the Netls
administrators at 1-800-446-8989 and obtain the nodelock
password information. The nodelock file you recieve is good
only for the cpu that was referenced in the ls_targetid command.
I know of no special instructions for DSLO installations.
They should follow the same procedure. Discuss this with
the Netls administrators.
