Questions on 7318-P10 vs. 7318-S20.
Want to confirm that 5765-268 Async Terminal Server... software provides
the IPX support for AIX (as opposed to getting something like 5765-382
AIX NetBIOS and IPX/SPX Support/6000)?
Regarding modem attachment, it appears all that I gain with the S20 vs.
P10 is that the device on the other side of the modem can come into
the 7318 using using Rtelnet. If the device is a PC with simple ASCII
terminal emulation and dial up software (e.g. ProCom, kermit, etc.) then
the P10 should work okay. Is this true?
Have customer who thinks all they need is a P10 and is asking I confirm
these points. And, I don't know for sure.

AIX.
Yes, the 7318-P10 should do the job. You can use the 7318-P10
for modem attachment to PC with simple ASCII terminal emulation
and dial up software such as ProCom and Kermit.
Regarding modem attachment, when using the 7318-S20 port defining
as a P10 style port, the modem connection will be the same as
that of the 7318-P10. In other words, using this option on the
7318-S20, you can attach PC with simple ASCII terminal emulation
and dial up software to communicate with the host without using
Rtelnet. However, in native S20 mode, you can configure the
device attached to modem come into the 7318 using Rtelnet.
