NV/6000,capture MAC address of adapters sending runt/malformed IP
ITEM: RTA000071330
A customer is trying to configure Netview/6000 V2.1 to capture IP
Netbios and Appletalk runt/malformed frames to determine the MAC source
address of where these packets originated. I didn't think that the
MIB definition was detailed to the point of malformed protocol specific
frames and would require the use of a sniffer.
Basically, need some sort of sample code using Netview API to capture
malformed IP packets and to determine the MAC address it came from.
Is this possible, if so, can we have some sample code ?
ANSWER
You can't use AIX NetView/6000 API to capture
anything -- there is the snmp API. But, I don't think this is what you
mean. So the answer is: nothing in the product allows you to do this.
