"netView6000SubAgent" Enterprise Specific Traps
ITEM: RTA000067688
I'd like to know about enterprise specific traps supported by
NetView/6000 V1.
From the event configuration window, we can choose "netView6000Sub-
Agent" as the enterprise name. According to the MIB description
in /usr/etc/nm/mibs/ibm-nv6ksubagent.mib, which seems me to be related
with this kind of trap, are for CPU load, filesystem utilization, etc.
From my point of view, the trapgend daemon on AIX V3.2 agent cannot
generate enterprise specific traps when CPU or filesystem utilization
exceeds the threshold. And snmpCollect, which can detect threshold
events seems to use another specific code for its trap.
(Its enterprise name = netView6000 and its specific code = 58720263,
for all the threshold events, may be.)
Q1. Who uses netView6000SubAgent enterprise specific traps?
Q2. What kind of traps are included in this enterprise? Or isn't my
assumption correct?
ANSWER
Development reports:
They are confusing enterprise specific traps and values
in the private MIBs.
For trapgend, the enterprise specific traps comes from alertable errors
in the AIX system error log.
The variables in the private portion of trapgend are described
in /usr/etc/nm/mibs/ibm-nv6ksubagent.mib.
