TMN, Mediation (local / central) and NV4aix in the same box

A business partner is making an offer for a large network. The
components are radio links and similar. The idea is to use
NetView for AIX, TMN and Mediation as a base. The network will
be managed from different regional centers.

Each regional site is based on NetView for AIX with TMN Support
Facility. The proprietary telecom equipment is managed with Q Adaptor
Functions using Mediation System/6000. The Q Adaptor functions are
developed using TMN Workbench/6000.
Is it possible to have NetView for AIX and the Mediation System/6000
Central and Local Site functions in the same machine and still be
able to use the multi-manager possibilities as well as the manager
takeover function ?

ANSWER
My initial reaction is that:

a. All these things SHOULD run together, since TMN Support Facility
includes all the IP management function of NVAIX, and the SNMP and
CMIP functions will coexist. Certainly there should be no conflict
between the IP discovery and polling functions (including manager
   takeover) and the TMN/CMIP interfaces.

b. By putting all these things into one machine you are building a very
complicated configuration. I would not want to do problem
   determination for such a box˘

However, I do not know for sure whether these views are right. I'll
therefore forward the question to development for comment.

The following response (with parts of your question to give context)
resulted from discussion with development:
