I'd like to know about the migration from the System Monitor/6000 R1
to the R2.
Q1. System Monitor/6000 R1 has its configuration under "/usr/adm/sm6000
/config"..directory, as R2 does.
After making much modification to the tables of System Monitor R1,
some customers are planning to migrate to the R2.
In such case, does System Monitor/6000 R2 have the upward
compatibility from the R1? Can we save old files, and then keep on
using with R2?
Q2.If not, is there any guidance for the migration? I cannot find them
in ASKQ, MKTTOOLS, etc.
ANSWER
The configuration file format is unchanged from Release 1 to Release 2,
so your customer can update System Monitor and his existing configuration
should work correctly.
