Service Point Error message 0105-726
ITEM: RTA000066578
Customer is running NV6000 Entry V1 and AIX NetView Service Point.
Every now and then he gets error message :
0105-726 NVIXLC11 connection has become inactive
This message occurs in the window where NV6000 appl was started from.
I think this message is indicating that the SSCP-PU session has become
inactive. Is this correct ? It seems to recover itself, as customer says
he can issue RUNCMDs from host. There is no message to say connection
has become active again, shouldn't there be ?
I also thought that an event would occur in events window, but customer
says he sees nothing there.
Can you please give me a full explanation of this message ? I looked in
the Service Point manual, and Appendix H gives API/CS Return codes but
I have no idea how to relate these to message no. 0105-726.
Customer wants to know if this message is informational or critical ?
ANSWER
I have not seen this message.
Development says the following:
It looks like the connection is timing out because of inactivity.
There is a timeout parameter in the profile NVIXLC11,
"STOP CONNECTION ON INACTIVITY?" which is set to yes.
We believe the service point goes out and retries' ever so
often, and hence things start working again.
All of this is old stuff and as the customer is apparently using the
old old Service Point we would advise him to get SNA Server/6000 V211
and to migrate to the new and latest Service Point.
I have seen the same error message and I normally do not use
tralert or spappld.
I did a search through the service point code and I did not find
the message. I assume it comes from SNA Services. Support on
SNA Services ends at the end of the year; we
could not verify that the message is
coming from SNA Services.
It is not anything to worry about as long as the alerts and
runcmds get across.
