7331-205
ITEM: RTA000088614
My customer configured 7331-205 Tape Library to RS/6000.
Then two devices are defined, "smc0=7331" and "rmt1=ost".
(I know "ost" means "other SCSI tape drive".)
Q1) Is this configuration right ?
Q2) If it is right that 7331 tape drive is defined as "ost",
how do I write data with compress mode ?
ANSWER
The IBM 7331-205 is shipped with a 3.5-inch option diskette
containing system-level robotics auto-changer device drivers for
AIX Version 3.2.5 and AIX Version 4.1.1.
The robotics device driver is used in conjunction with the 8mm
tape device driver and the tape device control utilities provided
with the respective operating system. The 8 mm tape drive device
driver for AIX Version 3.2.5 is available on APARs IX48148 and
IX48692.
