I know it is possible to boot from a CD-ROM, but
1) How do I make a CD-ROM bootable in AIX V3 ?
2) How do I make a CD-ROM bootable in AIX V4 ?
(We often creates CD-ROMs for our customers by creating a tar-tape
and sending it to a company that does the very CD-writing. Those
CDs are of course not bootable, it would help us a lot of we could
make those CDs bootable).
ANSWER
Unfortunately, this is beyond the scope of this support center. Normally
the AIX operating system does not support this (either V3.2 or V4.1), and
we do not have the facilities to test and research this item.
You can submit an ATSS item in RETAIN under the queue L3SYSX to submit
this question to development. You may also wish to submit a request
for this function by using the "REQUESTS" command via HONE and following
the menu driven application to submit the idea.
