X25 and x25mon problem
ITEM: RS4000014719
**************> QUESTION level 1 --> level 2 SPECIALIST <**************
Question:
Environment: RISC/6000 model F30, AIX 4.1.4, X25 Link,
Communication Server for AIX 4.1
(X.25 Coprocessor/1 ISA adapter)
RISC/6000 is connected to a remote system over a switched
X.25 line to run a LU6.2 application.
We are not able to start the linkstation and tried to
activate the x25mon to locate the problem:
when starting "x25mon -s -p -n x25s0" we get the following
message: x25mon: cannot retrieve data from ODM : 23
From a device point of view everything seems OK:
- adapter available
- port available
- COMIO available
- dlc available
Any idea on what causes our problem?
Thanks in adavance, best regards, Marina.

RESPONSE:
In review of this item, I have found no history of this error for
running x25mon. From the general text of it, it appears that
entries in the ODM database for the sx25a0 necessary for x25mon are
missing. I would remove and build you configuration from X.25 from
scratch. Make sure you save your previous configuration information.
Stop all activity over the X.25 link such as SNA, COMIO/NPI
applications, and TCP/IP interfaces. Do the following.
rmdev -l xs0 -d (if you have xs0)
rmdev -l sx25a0 -d (and other ports if your are using portmaster)
rmdev -l twd0 -d
rmdev -l ampx0 -d (amp0 for portmaster)
cfgmgr
Add twd0 and the port back
Thank you for using AIX Support services.
