INSTANCE MIGRATION DB2 VERSION 1 TO VERSION 2 AS root

Question:

Question:
Why can't I migrate a version 1 instance up to version
2 when logged in as version 1 instance owner?

(That's what it says to do in the documentation.)

   Env:
        DB2/6000 2.1
   Desc:
I want to migrate my version 1 instance to version 2.
Following the documentation, I logged in as version 1
instance owner and ran the command:
        /usr/lpp/db2_02_01/instance/db2imigr \
        I got the error:
        ksh: /usr/lpp/db2_02_01/instance/db2imigr: Permission denied.

  Action:
Tried logging in as a version 2 instance owner and
executing the command. Got same error.
So I logged in as root and ran the command:
        /usr/lpp/db2_02_01/instance/db2imigr \
        -The instance migrated SUCCESSFULLY.

   Summary:
It appears there is an error in the documentation.
        (see p. 77 of DB2 V 2.1 Workshop for AIX and OS/2)
You cannot migrate an instance unless you are root.
