Problems restoring system from sysback backup

Env:
  AIX 3.2.5, Sysback 3.1.0.21

Desc:
Need to restore system from sysback backup and do not want
secondary volume groups recreated. When editing the volume
group information, are unable to exit to being the restoration.

Action:
Verifed that this is not a known problem and the process
taken as well as the media being used.

When select option to edit the volume group information, can
make the desired changes so that the secondary volume groups
will be imported upon reboot. After completing the desired
changes, are unable to exit back to prior menu to begin
  the restore.

Customer finally mentioned that he had renamed the 'rm'
command and replaced it with a script that logs all
file deletions and then calls the true rm command.

Checked and the sysback editvginfo makes use of the rm
command. Customer then mentioned that when attempting to
exit, there are several messages displayed on the console
from the script (writing to the logfile and then attempting
to run the renamed rm command.

Able to use tar command from another system and tar the
rm commnad (/usr/sbin/rm) to floppy and then restore to
the ram filesystem (which is created when booting in
service mde). Once the true rm command was placed in
the ram filesystem, were able to edit the volume group info
  and procede with the restoration.

Customer indicated that the script to replace the rm command
was recently documented in 'System Administrator' magazine.
