0513-015 read error zero on /etc/qconfig.bin
Question:
User machine has a problem with qdaemon. Getting 0513-015 error
when executing lpstat (among other things).
Act:
qdaemon inactive
startsrc -s qdaemon gives message:
0513-015 unable to start qdaemon
try again later.
ACT:
Checked permissions on enq, qdaemon, and qconfig. All look fine.
qconfig didn't have anything in it except one blank line. Had
customer remove blank line and add the bsh stanzas. enq -d received
error:
0781-159: read error0 /etc/qconfig.bin
/etc/qdaemon & runs just fine and everything prints.
tcbck -n ALL shows lots of errors, but nothing obvious
lssrc -S -s qdaemon but this showed /etc/qdaemon:104:0
This means a uid of 104, - which is lpd (shouldn't be the
one to own this), my system and other items indicate
/etc/qdaemon:0:0...
Response:
The definitions for each subsystem are in /etc/objrepos/SRCsubsys
For example on my system:
\# odmget -q"subsysname=qdaemon" SRCsubsys
SRCsubsys:
subsysname = "qdaemon"
synonym = ""
cmdargs = ""
path = "/etc/qdaemon"
uid = 0 users system is 104
auditid = 0
standin = "/dev/console"
standout = "/dev/console"
standerr = "/dev/console"
action = 1
multi = 0
contact = 2
svrkey = 0
svrmtype = 0
priority = 20
signorm = 30
sigforce = 15
display = 1
waittime = 20
grpname = "spooler"
Can change the uid with
chssys -s qdaemon -u UserID (0)
Customer was able to get control of the qdaemon after
issuing the command:
chsys -s qdaemon -u 0
Now 'startsrc -s qdaemon' and 'stopsrc -s qdaemon' work.
Printing works just fine.
