Connection reset by peer error messages
Question:
Env:
AIX 3.2.5
Desc:
Customer is trying to setup a network install server.
The customer is getting this error message when running
this command: /usr/lpp/bosinst/ninst \ curdate
Connection reset by peer
Action:
I had the customer check to make sure he configured inetd
correctly as stated in the Installation Guilde
I had the customer run this command:
inetserv -s -IX | grep instsrv
I appears the customer is using a different directory for
the home for the netinst user. The customer is using
/home/sysus19/netinst the result from the instserv command
showed /u/netinst and /u is not a symbolic link to home on
this system nor does the customer want it to be one.
The customer changed the file /etc/inetd.conf to reflect these
new paths, but it is trunc the last letters. So the customer
is going to have to shorten the paths for this to work.
After the customer makes the changes to the /etc/inetd.conf file
he will need to run inetimp and refresh -s inetd
