1831-367: NIS makedbm error, entry too large

Question:

Have a staff group map for NIS that is very large (it has about 420
entries).  When I do a makedbm to build the maps I get the errors--
        1831-367: Entry too big. 
        1831-375: Problem storing updated group.

Response:

This is the infamous 1024 byte line length limit. I described how to
break up the lines so that large groups would be useable:

group:!:1:namea1,namea2,...,nameax(line length less than 1024 bytes) 
group:!:1:nameb1,nameb2,...,namebx(line length less than ...
