cancel a remote print job using rembak, not working
Question:
I'm trying to cancel a remote print job using rembak, and I
can't get it to work.
Xferred to Tim
Response:
Environment: rs/6000-----tcp/ip----pc------printer
Description: You can't cancel remote print jobs, using rembak -S host -P queue
-x -\#jobid.
Action: I verified the syntax of the command.
I Asked you if the lpd daemon was running on the pc.
You said that you were unsure.
I ran the iptrace command to take a look at the communication
between the two systems, to verify it was running.
Next Action: You will fax me a copy of the output.
Response:
Next Action: NILVM; I suggested to you that you try and use the -u username
along with the -x -\#jobid in the command. I was able to reproduce the
same affects in the lab and this solved the problem.
The iptrace showed two spaces ( 2020 in hex ) after reviewing the
"IAB Official Protocol Standards" there is supposed to be a agent
inbetween the two. ( Agent meaning the name of the user who submitted
the job request ).
rembak -S host -P queue -x -\#jobid -u user@localhost
