cfgrentape: remote access denied when trying to setup sysback
ENV:
----
AIX 3.2.5
RISC 560 and 580
Sysback Ver 2.1
DESC:
-----
Paul is trying to use sysback to make a remote backup.
They have just added a new 5 gig 8mm tape drive to the sysback server
and Paul is setting up these two machines to run sysback.
He states that he has configured the backup server for remote services.
When he goes to the client to add the device on the client side,
he gets the following error:
cfgrentape: remote access denied
either money2 (name of remote host) has not been configured for remote
services or has not enabled this host for remote access to the tape
drives.
ACTION:
-------
The problem is not with sysback, but with changes in the rsh command.
Do this to fix the problem:
On both the Client and Server side:
1. login as root
2. passwd tapesvs
(does not matter what the password is)
3. rsh \ - tapesvs echo
(Testing to see if it will work)
