problem with 3812 printer, crosshatches
Question:
AIX 3.2.4 model 520 3812 printer
They have two queues, one for portrait in one pitch and another for
landscape in a different pitch. At first they can print through both
just fine. After they turn the printer off/on (change paper), they
can continue to print portrait. The first time they print landscape,
they get garbage. Also, after this first landscape print, the
portrait prints out garbage also. The entire situation clears up if
they reboot the RISC.
In the virtual printers the only signifigant differences are:
portrait landscape
_p 10 17
_z 0 1
Answer:
You should try using the command "splp -F! /dev/lp0" instead of
rebooting to fix the situation after it occurs. This command will
instruct the printer to reload its fonts.
