How do I determine what OS level I'm at?

Question:

We have just received a system that had been somewhere else. We
don't really know anything about it. Is there a way to determine
what operating system level it is running?

Response:

Had the customer enter the following:

\# oslevel

This showed that the system was at 3.2.5.

Also, the following is information for determining each level
of AIX:

HOW TO Tell Level of AIX 3.2
  BASE 3.2.0 lslpp -h U401864
 ----------
If PTF U401864 is installed and no other PTF's, then the level is 3.2.0
  AIX 3.2.1 lslpp -h bos.obj
 ---------
If there are two or more PTF's then the level is 3.2.1 (read further)
  AIX 3.2.2 lslpp -h U403173
 ---------
If PTF U403173 is installed, then the level of AIX is 3.2.2
  AIX 3.2.3 BASE lslpp -h U409490
 --------------
If PTF U409490 is installed, then the level of AIX is 3.2.3 BASE
  AIX 3.2.3 Extended lslpp -h U411711
 ------------------
If PTF U411711 is installed, then the level of AIX is 3.2.3 Extended
  AIX 3.2.4 BASE lslpp -h U493240 or lslpp -m bos.obj
 ---------------
If PTF U493240 is installed, then the level of AIX is 3.2.4
  AIX 3.2.5 BASE lslpp -h U493250 or lslpp -m bos.obj
 ---------------
If PTF U493250 is installed, then the level of AIX is 3.2.5
Be careful about using oslevel, it will sometimes give you a false level of
 AIX.
  Example:
If my system is at 3.2.0 and I install U422463, oslevel will show
my system at \<3250. Most of the system is still at 3.2.0.
