PCNFS Authentication Problems

Question:

I am using Chameleon on my PC to access my /home/barton on the RISC. When I try
to mount this filesystem on my PC I enter my user name and password, I get an
Authentication Failure message. When I log in with the nobody account it lets
me in. Why can't I get in with my own account from the same PC ?

Response:
You added '-root=\,access=\' to your /home/barton
filesystem/permission line listed in the /etc/exports file.
You stopped NFS by issuing 'nfs.clean'
You started NFS by issuing 'rc.nfs'
You checked to make sure that rpc.pcnfsd is still running.
The problem (authentication error) is still occurring.

You then checked your user id with the id command.
This showed that the id was set to 33. I had you go into smit user and change
the user id to a number greater than 101. There have been known problems in
the past with user id's being less then 101 getting this error.
Once you made the change the pc was able to mount the /home/barton
filesystem.
