Error listing volume groups
Question:
I get the error 0516-022 and 0516-304 when I try to list the volume
groups in SMIT. What am I doing wrong?
Response:
I had you run:
\# lsvg rootvg olanvg
\# lsvg -o rootvg olanvg
\# lsvg rootvg
\# lsvg olanvg
They all ran fine. The you ran:
\# lsvg -l olanvg
and it gave the same error messages. You exported the volume group and
reimported it and still got the same error messages. There is
mirroring for all three logical volumes on olanvg, but the filesystems
appear fine.
\# lslv -m \
showed that their may be some partitions on a filesystem (database) in
olanvg that only have 1 copy. You are going to fax me the output of
the lslv on all the filesystems in olanvg and the output of lspv.
You have a logical volume that is being mirrored from hdisk0 to hdisk3 that
continues on to hdisk1 without a mirror! You need to do:
\# rmlvcopy \ 1
\# mkvlcopy \ 2
\# syncvg -l \
to fix the problem and a:
\# lsvg -l olanvg
to verify the problem is solved.
After doing the steps above, everything looked good. The cause of this
might be that there was not enough resources available on the target disk
when the copies were being made.
