NFS files permissions problem

Question:

My customer is using a new rainbow system model 4-10 and has it set up as an 
NFS client.  I am able to create a mount point for the network file system and am
able to mount it on the client.  When I issue the 'ls -l' command I noticed that 
the permissions on this network file system are all wiped out.  I get 
'----------' for the permissions for all the files including the directory. 

Solution:

   In the process of searching for the source of this problem the SE found that the 
date on this system was set to 1938.  Using the 'date' command he changed the 
system date to the correct date and that seems to have fixed the problem.  He now
gets the correct permissions for the network file system files.
