COMM: after PTFs, getting led 581 0c9 888 102 700 0c0 on reboot
Question:
I have a 530H running 3.2.5. I have a ethernet network.
After adding PTF U423734, U423656, U423695 and U423789. This ptfs are
for running sybase 10.
LEDS 581 0c9 888 102 700 0c0
We have tried to rebooted a total of three times with no luck.
When the system hits led 581 it goes immediatly to the other
leds. Usually led 581 takes awhile to get past. The system did do
a complete dump.
581 Configuring PD TCPIP.
0c9 System initiated dump started. An unexpected system halt has
occurred, dump was started automatically.
ACTION:
Wait for dump to complete, 3-digit-display will change to
flashing 888.
0c0 User Requested Dump completed successfully. You requested a dump
using the sysdumpstart command, a dump key-sequence, or the RESET
button.
ACTION:
Examine dump now or save dump for later examination.
ROS level on the adapter is 14. I Don't think this level is known to be bad
with AIX 3.2, but it is pretty far back level. Suggested calling 1-800-IBM-SERV,
and have his CE bring out the latest level ROS chip.
One other thing, detach the machine from the network, and try rebooting.
Occasionally, bootup hanging at led 581 is be caused by incorrect IP subnet
mask, which can be modified if the machine boots without being attached to
network.
Final check with customer, he thinks the ODM entry for the lan adapter had
somehow gotten corrupted. He moved the adapter to another slot, rebooted,
and problem is solved.
