Problem on an Xstation 140 updating flash.

Question:

Xstation 140
1.1a code

On Xstation 140, customer has the 'Automatic update of FLASH' set up
as 'disabled'. However, he still gets the message 'verifying for flash update'.
The Xstations boots fine, but he does not know why this message comes up when it
really should not.

He says he has the PTF U424649, and he was able to set up the 140 as a 140 under
the SMIT options.

Response:

This is a known problem (APAR IX42725). The Xstation 140 is looking
for the files:

  /etc/x_st_mgr/xs140/upd/Fr_FR.km.Z
  /etc/x_st_mgr/xs140/upd/It_IT.km.Z

which do not exist. If these files are copied from
/etc/x_st_mgr/xs150/upd, then you should be able to use the "Disable"
setting for updating FLASH without getting the "verifying files for
FLASH update" message.
