0503-027 inutoc:.... installing for future installation.

AIX 3.2.3e

While I was installing a 3.2.5 SPO tape to the hard drive for future
installation, I received the following error several times:

0503-027  inutoc:  specified device \ not valid device or file.

Response:

The problem was resolved by installing ptf U422463 with the following
command:

installp -BNXacgq -d/rmt0.1 bos.obj 3.2.0.0.U422463 2>&1 | tee /tmp/ezptf.log

You then ran an inutoc command to create the new table of contents 
and this succeeded.
