kproc process on my HA/CMP machine.

Question:

I have a HA/CMP cluster and on the active machine, I have a process
that seems to be running away. The kproc process is the process that
I am seeing. It seems to be using a lot of the CPU.

Response:

kproc is a wait process. It runs whenever the CPU is idle. You have
very little activity on the machine. This is why the kproc seems to
be using so much CPU. The kproc process has a very low priority.
Therefore, if there is a process that needs the CPU, that process will
get to run. The kproc will only run when there is nothing waiting to
run!
