Can't print Quatro Pro pcl files from PC correctly to HPIII

Question:

        AIX: 3.2.5 MODEL: 980B

I have a local printer network and I have the print queue mounted onto
the pc network so that I can print from the pc network. The pc network
is running pctcpip from ftp software. Anyway, when
I try to print pcl files, the text in the boxes is misaligned and other
problems printing. Also, postscript files print garbage unless I print
to a file then enq the file from the RISC which will now print fine.

REPONSE:
We removed the print queues and tried removing the physical printer but
that crashed the system with a flashing 888. This is a know defect
at 3.2.5 and you will call Software Defect to obtain the PTF.
You will reboot and removethe printer which by the way was defined as
OSP (other serial printer). Then, add the printer as a HPIII and
setup a HPIII virtual printer.

You are using Quattro Pro in Microsoft Windows, to output pcl files
which are queued to the RISC. This obtains the incorrect printouts.
If you make Quattro Pro output to a file and then copy that file
to the RISC and then enqueue that file, you receive the same errors.

Response:

First put the printer in passthru mode.
_d=p - put printer in passthru mode.

Prints nice!

Now an extra page is sent at the end
_Z=+ change to _Z=!
Now page is not sent.

As far as his postscript - He will add a postscript queue.
