Question about xlf exit_ function

Question:

Customer is running AIX 3.2.3 and xlf 2.2.3.  When calling the exit_(
exit_arg ) function from his xlf programs, the function is failing to
return the exit code argument as the documentations says that it
should.  No matter what value is passed to exit_, the exiting program
always returns 0.  This should return the value of the exit_arg as
specifed in the xlf language reference manual page 222 ( sc09-1353-02
).  Why is this function not performing correctly?

Response:

xlf 2.3.0.0 did not implement the exit_() function correctly.  One of
the later fix levels took care of this problem.  I asked if they
were familiar with the Defect Support organization; they replied that
they had contacted them in the past.  They needs to contact them and 
simply ask for the latest update to the xlf compiler V2.3.
