Getting AIC error 5756-561
Question:
I have just installed the new version of AIC on my computer. I have
written an application program that worked on the old version but will
not compile now. I am running AIX 3.2.5 and AIC 1.2 and Motif 1.2 and
I don't know what version of X that I am running. I would like to
know how to compile my program now.
Response:
Customer was receiving an error indicating that a type mismatch was
found when trying to Apply a callback.
The problem is that the AIC interpreter has changed between AIC 1.1 and
AIC 1.2. With AIC 1.2 the programmer now has to define all functions
being used within the interface or a default type of "int" will be
used. Since the function the customer was references was returning
a char* a type mismatch occurred.
Has customer declare the return type of the function to be char* and
it worked fine.
