PROBLEM: CE added in new concentrator and customer thinks added
in the wrong drivers. Now none of the concentrators
                work.

*ACTION TAKEN: customer is not sure if this is the problem. But when
he boots up the concentrators light up. Also he
gets method errors when he runs cfgmgr.
Customer says the instructions say he should have

                Customer wants escalation quickly.

*ACTION TAKEN: I spoke with the customer from home, the customer has
an isa 128 port adapter which was working until he made changes to his
system. He had added a new concentrator and then tried to readd the
adapter in smitty. He only needed to bring a new RAN on line. I had
the customer run the following:

    lsdev -Cc adapter
      -- cxia0 defined 01-01 128 port isa adapter
    mkdev -l cxia0
      -- error message???

I then had the customer try to check the odm and the adapter appears
correct. I then had him look in the /dev directory and this also is
fine. I then explained to the customer that I needed to come into the
office and try to dial in to the system. When on my way here, the
customer called back and said that I hadn't been able to dial in. I
then tried to call the customer several times after arriving and no
response.

*ACTION PLAN: Continue to try to contact customer and wait on call
back.

 TEST CASE: None.

Action Taken: I called the customer and recevied a response, the first
thing I did was have the customer attach the modem to S2. A tty does
not exist so we created one. I then had the customer run the
following:

    cd /etc/uucp
    chmod 644 Devices
    echo Direct tty113 - 9600 direct >> Devices
    cu -ml tty113
      -- connected
         at
         OK

We had a couple of problems with the first modem not responding
properly. I then had the customer change the modem, and penable the
modem. I was then able to dial in. I ran the following:

   lsdev -Cc adapter
     -- cxia0 defined 01-01 128 port isa
        cxpa0 Defined 04-04 N/A

   mkdev -l cxia0

Method error (/usr/lib/methods/cfgcxma):
        0514-066 Cause not known.
0509-037 System error - error data is:

0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a
                               valid format.

Same error for the pci adapter. I the ran the following:

     lslpp -l devices.isa.*

devices.isa.cxia.rte 4.1.5.0 COMMITTED ISA 8-Port Asynchronous

                                             Adapter Software

This appears to be the problem. He is trying to add a pci adapter to
a unsupported version.

I tried to remove installed software and this fails. I paged install
and they informed me I needed to remove the adapter first. I did this
and then was able to remove the 4.2.1 filesets. I then tried to make
the 128 port available and I still received the above error. I then
had the customer overwrite the following filesets:

   devices.mca.ffe1.rte 4.1.5.0
   devices.isa.cxia.rte 4.1.5.0
   devices.isa.cxia128.rte 4.1.5.0

I was then able to run cfgmgr and have the devices all come available.
The customer checked several printers and ttys and all appear to be
working.

Action Plan: CWCA at EOBD.
