Issues with the non-prompt install
Question:
Env:
AIX 4.2.1
RISC J30 590
sysback 4.2.0
Problem:
Two systems modj30 server system
mod590 client system
If I create a remote backup from mod590 to the tape drive on modj30.
Then setup to perform a network boot from mod590 to modj30.
I have my mod590.sbinfo file looking this way:
PLATFORM rs6k
SPOT /usr
SPOTSRV 9.19.145.105
SPOTGATE 9.19.145.105
INSTSRV 9.19.145.105
INSTGATE 9.19.145.105
INSTMODE noprompt
INSTPROG /usr/lpp/sysback/inst/sysinst_noprompt
CONSOLE /dev/tty0
TERMTYPE ibm3151
VGOPT all
RESTDEV /dev/rmt1
REMSB y
REMNET y
LVMINFO /vginfo1
It did not remove the network parameters or sysback software when I
performed a network install.
Will the options REMSB and REMNET only be used if the tape was
created on a different system than the one being installed.
If the tape was created on the same system it is installing to, should it
have remove the nework paramters and sysback software when
these values are set:
REMSB y
REMNET y

The prompt is misleading. I've changed the prompt in the SMIT
menu to "Remove Sysback from foreign client after install"
and changes the SMIT help info to indicate that the value
only takes affect when installing from a backup taken on a
different machine. Likewise with the Net Config option.
