Trouble NFS mounting a drive between a PC and a RISC.

Question:

I am operating on a RISC System/6000 @ 3.2.4, and having trouble NFS
mounting a file system from my RISC to my PC. I am using Sun's PCNFS
Version 5 on the PC. If I try to log into the filesystem as root, it
won't allow me access, but it will allow other users such as ingris
and imcsc.

Response:

By default, pcnfsd rejects any mount requested of user ids \< 100 and any
user who's primary group is 0 (system). User ids \ 100 can be enabled by
creating a /etc/pcnfsd.conf file with the following line:

uidrange 0-60002

In order to mount as root, the pcnfsd must first be stopped.
