Infoexplorer problems 0575-012
Question:
AIX 3.2.4
RISC 360
I am trying to run InfoExplorer on a PS/2 running OS/2 and
an Xwindows emulation package. I get an error about the
"application definition files" not being correct.
Response:
The "application definition file" message refers to these files, which
are located in /usr/lpp/info/data:
- comprops.def
- krsfonts.def
- krstfmac.def
- krstfnam.def
and possibly PShead. When these files are missing, they need to
be installed from an installation tape.
These files do exist and have the correct size, ownerships, and
permissions, so the message the user is receiving is bogus.
The command "what /usr/bin/X11/X" shows the RISC is running X11R5. If
the X emulator on the PS/2 is running X11R4, info will not work
remotely.
The ASCII version works fine. We went through all the configration
files. The only change we made was to replace all the %Ls in ispaths
with En_US, as the user's LANG was equal to C.
