qprt -m command returning errors.

Question:

I have an RS/6000 running operating system level 3.2.3e. I am trying
to use the qprt command with the -m flag to get a notification message
when a user tries to print. When I try to test this command, I
receive some errors. The command I am issuing is:

 qprt -P\ -wX -m"message" \

I get a message about "this is not a known host."

Response:

The writesrv uses sockets to do its work. TCP/IP was not configured on this
system, though a hostname had been assigned.

User edited /etc/hosts and added a line associating his hostname with the
address of the loopback address. The "-m" flag on qprt then worked fine.

When the machine is finally put on a TCP/IP network, the address will be
corrected.
