970, ethernet, getting frequent ent_err6, ent_err2 in errpt -a

Question:

Having performance problems, telnet into this machine sometimes takes
a whole minute to get established, and seeing ent_err6 in the error
report. Other info includes errorid db3e3dfd, error class h, error
type perm. Also seeing frequent ent_err2 along with 6.

Response:

Most hits showing up in PMR records suggest adapter or cabling
problems, ent_err6 is carrier loss, ent_err2 is parity check.
Customer is running bnc, RG-58 thinnet to a hub/repeater. You plan to
have them check cabling, repeaters, possibly try another bnc port on
the repeater.
